When we were asked to promote the popular game “World Of Tanks”, we instantly had the idea to convert a toy RC tank into a lethal weapon. We settled for one of our “over the barrel” arrow shooters using pressurized air as slingshot crossbows need much more length in order to be powerful enough. Plus, “over the barrel” arrow shooters are legally toys in Germany and we found that a funny match 🙂
But now we had to come up with a way how to attach that “toy weapon” to the model we chose (a German “Tiger 1” WW2 tank). We decided to build a self contained arrow gun that is fired with an independent little “garage door” RC. Still, as we are newbies to the world of RC models, we had to do quite a bit of research to solve the related problems.
The final result may look a bit odd (we actually like it that way) – but it has serious power and we consider it a lethal (toy) weapon.
The concept has potential – adding a camera with a remote app for a cell phone would make this even more awesome! So stay tuned.
