Commercial 7.62X54R Ammo Test04:33

In this video, we test some of the most commonly available commercial loads for the 7.62x54r. The round itself has made tremendous leaps in popularity, mainly due to the fact that the M91/30 is such a cheap and available rifle in surplus form. One reason the round has taken off well too is that it is still in service in the Military so surplus stores are continuing to replenish. It has the distinction of being the long serving military cartridge in the world, being in service since 1891.

We will shoot another test in a future video showcasing some of the most common military surplus ammunition. We thought that a test of commercial ammo would be a prudent thing given that most of it sells for a considerable premium over most surplus offerings. On the plus side, much of the brass cased commercial ammo is boxer primed and reloadable.

Even despite the seemingly cheap cost of surplus ammo, some of us still like to experiment with handloads in the Mosin. I am one of those people and will share some of my pet loads in a future video.
