Cotton-top tamarin monkeys are unique to Colombia and there are only 7,500 left. A team at the University of Georgia used NASA satellite data to help Disney’s conservation biologist and Proyecto Titi protect Colombia’s endangered cotton-top tamarin monkeys. The team analyzed Landsat images to reveal loss of habitat and identify areas that could be protected and restored to provide sustainable habitat for the cotton-tops.
