This item just oozed low quality for some reason. It claimed to be suited to outdoor use on a bike or for fishing, but in reality is not even the slightest bit waterproof. If you have one of these then make sure it’s mounted with the cable port pointing down, since that will at least let water drip back out again. It does however project a modest beam of light while drawing about 160mA at 12V.
The LED is glued in and the housing is very reminiscent of the type used for MR16 and GU10 style lamps, although about 1/4″ (6mm) smaller in diameter.
